Ultra violet light from the sun can destroy the tannins in wine. Certain types of light bulbs can emit low level UV light. If your bottles are exposed to natural light or UV emitting bulbs, the tannins can weaken and prematurely age your wine.

Being completely underground, your wine won’t even see the light of day. We store all bottles in wood or corrugated boxes, so your bottles stay in total darkness. The fluorescent bulbs we use do not emit UV light and remain off when not in use.
